If Lawrence Rogers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ballyfahy's goalkeeper Eoin Horgan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Toran McSteve managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballyfahy's supporters rose to their feet, but Toran McSteve was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boyce McDecland breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lawrence Rogers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Gearroid Gough made the kick off in the second half. Gearroid Gough scored 2-0 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eoin Horgan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Ballyfahy booed when Ardloy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gearroid Gough didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lawrence Rogers in the 56th minute of play forced Ballyfahy's goalkeeper Eoin Horgan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Ardloy's goal looked a bit too open when Toran McSteve came free, but Boyce McDecland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gehan Taylor hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. When Toran McSteve, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 89 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Boyce McDecland was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 91st minute, Toran McSteve fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Boyce McDecland, passed just outside the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Gearroid Gough managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ardloy's supporters rose to their feet, but Gearroid Gough was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eoin Horgan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ballyfahy players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Ardloy.
