Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Herne Cronin took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Gortnagroagh's Herne Cronin in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ardloy's goalie prevented a goal. Ravan Crowe hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ardloy's zone, Herne Cronin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boyce McDecland came out of the goal and Herne Cronin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Boru Keegan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gearroid Gough in the 11th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gearroid Gough in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Boru Keegan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kyle Dimson hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Boru Keegan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gearroid Gough, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Boyce McDecland made an important save on a dangerous shot by Herne Cronin in the 27th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Herne Cronin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Boyce McDecland. Ardloy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Herne Cronin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Ardloy's Boyce McDecland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herne Cronin in the 40th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Ardloy's zone, Barhart McTom stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boyce McDecland came out of the goal and Barhart McTom tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Herne Cronin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boyce McDecland having to interfere.

After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Barhart McTom managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gortnagroagh's supporters rose to their feet, but Barhart McTom was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boyce McDecland breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Barhart McTom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boyce McDecland having to interfere. After having played for 79 minutes, Barhart McTom managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gortnagroagh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Barhart McTom was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rordan Colwell's late challenge caught a Ardloy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rordan Colwell helped the player get up and apologised. After 80 played minutes Gortnagroagh got a freekick which was hit by Rordan Colwell. Ardloy's Lawrence Rogers got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Gortnagroagh's Brendann Willson got a free kick in the 84th minute. Gearroid Gough fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boru Keegan having to interfere. Lawrence Rogers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boru Keegan having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Barhart McTom in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Boyce McDecland saved Ardloy from getting behind. After having played for 91 minutes, Lawrence Rogers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
