The supporters of Gortnagroagh booed when Kilcorney was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Seosamh Cronin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Kilcorney's zone, Herne Cronin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brite Gough came out of the goal and Herne Cronin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gortnagroagh's Barhart McTom got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Boru Keegan managed to avoid a goal in the 9thth minute, when Kilcorney's Fiachra Taylor fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 11 minutes into the game, Branagain McBrandon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kilcorney's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gortnagroagh the free kick. In the 12th match minute, Kilcorney was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Branagain McBrandon to maneuver through the defense. If Fiachra Taylor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kyle Dimson kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Boru Keegan acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 21st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Bray Gallagher. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barhart McTom in the 25th minute of play forced Kilcorney's goalkeeper Brite Gough to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Fiachra Taylor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kilcorney's Brite Gough played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herne Cronin in the 34th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barhart McTom in the 35th minute of play forced Kilcorney's goalkeeper Brite Gough to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Fiachra Taylor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Kilcorney's Oliver McBjarton got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Brite Gough showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herne Cronin in the 47th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Herne Cronin made a kick off. When Gortnagroagh's Herne Cronin in 52 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Brite Gough guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Herne Cronin kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Herne Cronin struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Brite Gough didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gortnagroagh. Herne Cronin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Brite Gough tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Branagain McBrandon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Boru Keegan was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Herne Cronin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Brite Gough tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Herne Cronin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gortnagroagh's supporters rose to their feet, but Herne Cronin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brite Gough breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Barhart McTom took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Brite Gough. Brite Gough dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 77 minutes into the match, Branagain McBrandon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Boru Keegan. Gortnagroagh's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Branagain McBrandon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Branagain McBrandon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kilcorney's supporters rose to their feet, but Branagain McBrandon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boru Keegan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fiachra Taylor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Boru Keegan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Branagain McBrandon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Boru Keegan was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. 92 minutes into the game, Kyle Dimson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gortnagroagh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kilcorney the free kick. A collision led to Gortnagroagh getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Kyle Dimson hit a great ball. When Kilcorney's Branagain McBrandon in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gortnagroagh's goalie prevented a goal. Boru Keegan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Branagain McBrandon's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. Kilcorney's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
