Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Herne Cronin started the match with the kick off. Coalbrook FC's Loughlin McJon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barhart McTom in the 9th minute of play. After 12 minutes, Bhrighde Brennan made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Gortnagroagh's Boru Keegan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Loughlin McJon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Herne Cronin's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. The supporters of Coalbrook FC booed when Gortnagroagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barhart McTom didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barhart McTom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loughlin McJon having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Herne Cronin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Loughlin McJon was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Donegal McLiam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Boru Keegan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Donegal McLiam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After the first half Coalbrook FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Barhart McTom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loughlin McJon having to interfere. The supporters of Coalbrook FC booed when Gortnagroagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerard Caffey didn't get a good kick on the ball. 61 minutes into the game, Donegal McLiam recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Boru Keegan. Donegal McLiam showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Loughlin McJon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herne Cronin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donelle Prunty got free with Boru Keegan in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 82 played minutes Donegal McLiam rounded Gortnagroagh's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-4. Herne Cronin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Coalbrook FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
