One of Nolagh:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Greencastle FC:s goal. Conan Benson went to the wrong direction when Rylie John was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Bardain McFrancise struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Conan Benson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Greencastle FC. After a rather tough play, Greencastle FC's Benjamin McBjarton got a free kick in the 20th minute. Conan Benson made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Braeden McSteve sent off a good shot on target. Nolagh's Conan Benson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breffni McJohn in the 25th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Barra Todd hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nolagh's defense didn't have a chance, in the 32nd minute, when Benjamin McBjarton scored to the left of an out of position Conan Benson, making the score, 2-0. In the 35th minute, Benjamin McBjarton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Nolagh getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Bragain Gollogley hit a great ball. The long shot by Dermot Caffrey in the 38th minute really tested Conan Benson's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 40th minute, Greencastle FC's Breffni McJohn ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Conan Benson. Conan Benson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. The wind increased when Breffni McJohn made the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes Nolagh got a freekick which was hit by Bresal Gollogley. Conan Benson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breffni McJohn in the 58th minute of play. When Braeden McSteve came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Greencastle FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Braeden McSteve couldn't finish the play. After having played for 61 minutes, Bardain McFrancise managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Greencastle FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bardain McFrancise was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Greencastle FC booed when Nolagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Byrne McWilliam didn't get a good kick on the ball. Breffni McJohn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bresal Gollogley hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute Bardain McFrancise shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Conan Benson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Conan Benson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Braeden McSteve in the 82nd minute of play. Conan Benson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bardain McFrancise, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Conan Benson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Braeden McSteve, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 87 minutes into the game, Bardain McFrancise cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Conan Benson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dermot Caffrey charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dermot Caffrey the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 97th match minute, Greencastle FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dermot Caffrey to maneuver through the defense. There was no doubt that Greencastle FC were the better team. Greencastle FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
