Paul Dempsey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phelim Robinson in the 4th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Pembroke Duggan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Altadush's supporters rose to their feet, but Pembroke Duggan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paul Dempsey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paul Dempsey didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Royan Benson went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. A hard shot 15 in the game by Pierce Martyn from a close distance when the talented Darrick Prunty managed to make a qualified save. Altadush's players were relieved. Royan Benson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pembroke Duggan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Dempsey having to interfere. Pembroke Duggan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pearce Caffrey hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Pembroke Duggan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Paul Dempsey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Royan Benson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute Pembroke Duggan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Dempsey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Royan Benson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paul Dempsey having to make a save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Declan Ghee to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Altadush's Royan Benson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Paul Dempsey. Paul Dempsey yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Pembroke Duggan struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Paul Dempsey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Altadush. Pembroke Duggan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Paul Dempsey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ardfinnan FC's zone, Pembroke Duggan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paul Dempsey came out of the goal and Pembroke Duggan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Royan Benson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Paul Dempsey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 72nd minute, Royan Benson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Altadush fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. If Pembroke Duggan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th match minute, Ardfinnan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Declan Ghee to maneuver through the defense. When Royan Benson came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Altadush fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Royan Benson couldn't finish the play. Paul Dempsey stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Blar Hughes's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. Paul Dempsey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Royan Benson in the 95th minute. Pembroke Duggan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Paul Dempsey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Altadush's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
