In the 3rd minute, Dermod Murphy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Riddoc Gough sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Riddoc Savic had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Batt Kirby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dermod Murphy in the 14th minute of the match. A collision led to Whitefield getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Bar Harkin hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the game, Kevion Dalton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clifferna Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Whitefield the free kick. In the 28th match minute, Clifferna Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kevion Dalton to maneuver through the defense. After 33 played minutes Whitefield got a freekick which was hit by Bar Harkin. If Riddoc Savic had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dermod Murphy was the one to do the kick off. Whitefield's Batt Kirby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dermod Murphy in the 59th minute of play. In the 60th minute Dermod Murphy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Batt Kirby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st match minute, Whitefield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bar Harkin to maneuver through the defense. In the 62nd minute, Riddoc Savic ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Batt Kirby was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Whitefield's zone, Dermod Murphy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Batt Kirby came out of the goal and Dermod Murphy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ainnle MaCollin charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ainnle MaCollin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 74th minute, Ainnle MaCollin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 82 minutes, Harrigan Dimson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Whitefield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harrigan Dimson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Whitefield booed when Clifferna Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ainnle MaCollin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bar Harkin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Riddoc Savic received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Batt Kirby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Batt Kirby took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dermod Murphy , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90th match minute, Whitefield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Riddoc Gough to maneuver through the defense. Batt Kirby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Riddoc Savic, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
