Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Dawayne Morrison took the kick off in the first half of the match. Bar Harkin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Clontarf's Shane Coyle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Riddoc Gough in the 5th minute of play. When Dawayne Morrison came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Clontarf fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dawayne Morrison couldn't finish the play. Batt Kirby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dawayne Morrison, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. A collision led to Whitefield getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Riddoc Gough hit a great ball. In the 16th minute, Bryan Dillon sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Whitefield's Batt Kirby didn't even have to move. Batt Kirby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Branagain Palmer in the 18th minute of play. After having played for 21 minutes, Riddoc Gough managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Whitefield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Riddoc Gough was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Batt Kirby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Branagain Palmer, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Batt Kirby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dawayne Morrison in the 29th minute of the match. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Clontarf's goalkeeper Shane Coyle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Whitefield's Batt Kirby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bellaghy Sheridan in the 44th minute of play. Harrigan Dimson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Shane Coyle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Riddoc Gough to make the kick off. Batt Kirby took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beacan Lavine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kain Beckett hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dawayne Morrison in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Batt Kirby prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 63rd minute, Bar Harkin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Batt Kirby was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dawayne Morrison showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 66 minute of play. Bar Harkin hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Clontarf's Bryan Dillon couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 71st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Whitefield. In the 73rd minute, Dawayne Morrison reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Batt Kirby. The goal made the score 0-2. If Branagain Palmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Branagain Palmer in the 82ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Batt Kirby, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Bar Harkin kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Branagain Palmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Batt Kirby having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Whitefield's goal looked a bit too open when Dawayne Morrison came free, but Batt Kirby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Clontarf eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
