Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Torna Keegan started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Gortroe's Finian Branson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torna Keegan in the 4th minute of play. Finian Branson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bradigan Dempsey in the 7th minute of the match. When Downies Utd's Torna Keegan in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gortroe's goalie prevented a goal. Torna Keegan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Finian Branson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaine Moran in the 17th minute of play forced Downies Utd's goalkeeper Baoithin Byrne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Donal Morrison in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Baoithin Byrne saved Downies Utd from getting behind. Baoithin Byrne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donal Morrison in the 24th minute of the match. The long shot by Bedilia McWillie in the 27th minute really tested Baoithin Byrne's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Gortroe's zone, Torna Keegan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Finian Branson came out of the goal and Torna Keegan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Gortroe booed when Downies Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denny Dalton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Donal Morrison struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Baoithin Byrne didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gortroe. Harold McTom hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match.

If Edwin Molloy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 54th minute Donal Morrison shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baoithin Byrne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 56th minute, Beollan McBrandon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gortroe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 59th minute Donal Morrison shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baoithin Byrne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baoithin Byrne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beollan McBrandon in the 60th minute of play. Baoithin Byrne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donal Morrison in the 64th minute of the match. Bradigan Dempsey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Finian Branson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Donal Morrison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baoithin Byrne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donal Morrison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Baoithin Byrne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beollan McBrandon in the 86th minute of the match. Gortroe were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Downies Utd for a fine match.
