The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bealtaine Palmer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Shanacrane's Dermot Prunty got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cregganbaun's Torrian Dunne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bin Benson in the 11th minute of play. A collision led to Cregganbaun getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Keely Doherty hit a great ball. Torrian Dunne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dermot Prunty in the 13th minute of the match. Keely Doherty hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Bradigan Caffrey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shannon Johnson in the 16th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Shanacrane's goal looked a bit too open when Troy Mulvihill came free, but Bradigan Caffrey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Troy Mulvihill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Cregganbaun booed when Shanacrane was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bin Benson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Cregganbaun's Bourns McTom got a free kick in the 27th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Dermot Prunty managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shanacrane's supporters rose to their feet, but Dermot Prunty was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Torrian Dunne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Birr Hutton kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Torrian Dunne came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Shanacrane's Dermot Prunty. But to his dismay, Dermot Prunty quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 40 minutes into the match, Cregganbaun's goal looked a bit too open when Dermot Prunty came free, but Torrian Dunne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 41 played minutes Shanacrane got a freekick which was hit by Paudraig Quinnless. 45 minutes into the match, Shanacrane's goalkeeper Bradigan Caffrey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hickey Silke. 47 minutes into the game, Basil McIan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Shanacrane's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cregganbaun the free kick. In the 47th match minute, Shanacrane was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basil McIan to maneuver through the defense.

Keely Doherty hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Bealtaine Palmer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Torrian Dunne made a huge save. Dermot Prunty's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Torrian Dunne read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Dermot Prunty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Torrian Dunne having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Bin Benson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shanacrane's supporters rose to their feet, but Bin Benson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Torrian Dunne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 66th minute Bin Benson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Torrian Dunne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th minute Troy Mulvihill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bradigan Caffrey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Brendann Callaghan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shanacrane's supporters rose to their feet, but Brendann Callaghan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Torrian Dunne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dermot Prunty's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Torrian Dunne read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Bealtaine Palmer was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 79 minutes into the match. After 79 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Shanacrane! The supporters of Cregganbaun booed when Shanacrane was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dermot Prunty didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute Hickey Silke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bradigan Caffrey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, Shanacrane's goal looked a bit too open when Hickey Silke came free, but Bradigan Caffrey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dermot Prunty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Torrian Dunne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Cregganbaun getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Payton McPhilip hit a great ball. Cregganbaun succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Shanacrane had controlled the match.
