The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Beaumont FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Aaron Duggan hit a great ball. Barrie McGlynn made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Bradigan Dempsey sent off a good shot on target. Torna Keegan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. In the 41st minute Torna Keegan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barrie McGlynn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Downies Utd's zone, Barde McMichel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baoithin Byrne came out of the goal and Barde McMichel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Barde McMichel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Downies Utd's Caolán McFrank got a free kick in the 48th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Denny Morrison made a kick off. Barrie McGlynn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denny Dalton in the 53rd minute of the match. Barde McMichel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Barde McMichel's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 56thth minute, Baoithin Byrne skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 58 minutes into the game, Riley Hunt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Beaumont FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Downies Utd the free kick. After 59 played minutes Beaumont FC got a freekick which was hit by Riley Hunt. It was beautiful to see Downies Utd's Quirk Jameson in action when he in the 60th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Bradigan Dempsey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Caolán McFrank received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Barrie McGlynn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th match minute, Downies Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ros Kelly to maneuver through the defense. 96 minutes into the game, Thurl Lavine recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Baoithin Byrne. Thurl Lavine showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Beaumont FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
