In the 44thth minute of the game Teagan Caffrey who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Downies Utd's Baoithin Byrne was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bradigan Dempsey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Denny Dalton fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Downies Utd's protests and gave Denny Dalton a yellow card for diving instead. In the 48th minute, Denny Dalton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Downies Utd booed when Nobber FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bellaghy Cronin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 70 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Nobber FC! The referee gave Downies Utd a penalty, 71 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ros Kelly, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Nobber FC's Beartlai Jameson. 2-0. Downies Utd's Baoithin Byrne proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Downies Utd from getting a goal against them. Berrin McBjarton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Baoithin Byrne having to make a save.
