After a rather tough play, Knockatee's Dewayne Perth got a free kick in the 39th minute. After 41 played minutes Cregganbaun got a freekick which was hit by Iarla Todd. The audience thought a goal was coming when Séamus Myler got free with Torrian Dunne in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Troy Mulvihill was the one to do the kick off. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Torrian Dunne prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Torrian Dunne stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Séamus Myler's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Troy Mulvihill took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Brenainn Gough to make any attempt to save it.
