Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dermot Prunty started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute, Devlin Branson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Shanacrane were furious when Birr Hutton was red carded, 10 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 9 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Shanacrane! Thurl Lavine walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. If Denny Morrison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Barrie McGlynn was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Petran Deery showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. Bin Benson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barrie McGlynn having to interfere. Barrie McGlynn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bin Benson in the 35th minute of the match. Caimin Caffey struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Barrie McGlynn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shanacrane. The supporters of Beaumont FC booed when Shanacrane was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paudraig Quinnless didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The wind increased when Denny Morrison made the kick off in the second half. Barrie McGlynn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brendann Callaghan in the 53rd minute of the match. Barrie McGlynn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bin Benson in the 58th minute of play. When Bealtaine Palmer fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Shanacrane's protests and gave Bealtaine Palmer a yellow card for diving instead. The long shot by Thurl Lavine in the 61st minute really tested Bradigan Caffrey's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When Bin Benson came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Shanacrane fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bin Benson couldn't finish the play. Petran Deery recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Bin Benson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Blar Cronin hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After having played for 84 minutes, Bin Benson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shanacrane's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bin Benson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bin Benson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Barrie McGlynn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Bin Benson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brendann Callaghan might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Barrie McGlynn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brendann Callaghan ran back to his position shaking his head. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Shanacrane had played much better football throughout.
