The Gortnasate fans' excitement grew in the 25th match minute when Gortnasate's Raymun Taylor looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gortnasate's Bradagain Lavine proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Gortnasate from getting a goal against them. Brendon McLiam scored 1-2 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Blathmacc John, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Blathmacc John made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raymun Taylor in the 41st minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bressail McJon to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Gortnasate's Brendon McLiam sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Blathmacc John narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Blathmacc John had in the 69thth minute some difficulties stopping Raymun Taylor's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 69 minutes into the game, Raymun Taylor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Blathmacc John was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Brendon McLiam was extremely unlucky when he, in the 76th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After having played for 89 minutes, Brendon McLiam managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gortnasate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brendon McLiam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Raymun Taylor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Blathmacc John tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Gortnasate booed when Glenbonniv Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bairrionn Perth didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gortnasate were awarded a corner in the 97th minute after Glenbonniv Utd's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Críostóir McJohnny took the corner. The Glenbonniv Utd fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Gortnasate were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
