Blathmacc John made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paul McIan in the 8th minute of play. After having played for 9 minutes, Bola Dillon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glenbonniv Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bola Dillon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paul McIan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Blathmacc John tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Colnamona Utd's Paul McIan in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Glenbonniv Utd's goalie prevented a goal. Paul McIan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blathmacc John having to interfere. After 24 played minutes Glenbonniv Utd got a freekick which was hit by Boudibiua McWillie. Blathmacc John came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Colnamona Utd's Cacey Robinson. But to his dismay, Cacey Robinson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Blathmacc John showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paul McIan, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Cacey Robinson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomás McFrank charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tomás McFrank the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Glenbonniv Utd booed when Colnamona Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás McFrank didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Cacey Robinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 41 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Glenbonniv Utd! In the 43rd minute there was a penalty for Colnamona Utd. Brenan McBjarton stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Blathmacc John. 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bressail McJon was the one to do the kick off. Cacey Robinson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Blathmacc John read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bola Dillon in the 56th minute of play forced Colnamona Utd's goalkeeper Bealtaine Taylor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 56 played minutes Colnamona Utd got a freekick which was hit by Tomás McFrank. Bressail McJon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Bealtaine Taylor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 63 played minutes Colnamona Utd got a freekick which was hit by Donald Byrne. Bola Dillon scored 1-2 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bealtaine Taylor, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Paul McIan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paul McIan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Blathmacc John having to make a save. Cacey Robinson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blathmacc John having to interfere. Colnamona Utd's Paul McIan got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Glenbonniv Utd's Blathmacc John played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paul McIan in the 82nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Glenbonniv Utd defense, Paul McIan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Blathmacc John. The Glenbonniv Utd fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Blathmacc John should have stopped the shot. When Colnamona Utd's Paul McIan in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Glenbonniv Utd's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Glenbonniv Utd's zone, Paul McIan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Blathmacc John came out of the goal and Paul McIan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Colnamona Utd played a much better game than Glenbonniv Utd and deserved their victory. The Glenbonniv Utd players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
