Terrence Hutton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brendan Lavine in the 12th minute of play. Dermot Jameson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Donahue McAaron fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cloghoge AFC's protests and gave Donahue McAaron a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cork booed when Cloghoge AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donahue McAaron didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dermot Jameson in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Terrence Hutton saved Cloghoge AFC from getting behind. Donahue McAaron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 29 minutes, Dewain McFrank mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cloghoge AFC and the Cork players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 29 played minutes Cloghoge AFC got a freekick which was hit by Dewain McFrank. Cloghoge AFC's Terrence Hutton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dermot Jameson in the 35th minute of play. Terrence Hutton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brendan Lavine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute, Reilly Palmer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aubrey McPaul took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dewain McFrank, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dewain McFrank to strike the kick off in the second half. Cloghoge AFC's Donegan Dillon got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Cork booed when Cloghoge AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shey Holt didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Iarla Prunty in the 57th minute really tested Terrence Hutton's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Aubrey McPaul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dewain McFrank in the 65th minute of play. Donoghue Ramsey kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 67th minute Donegan Dillon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aubrey McPaul saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Dermot Jameson came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Cork fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dermot Jameson couldn't finish the play. After 88 played minutes Cork got a freekick which was hit by Donoghue Ramsey. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Cork eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
