Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) After 3 played minutes Cork got a freekick which was hit by Bedilia Deery. 4 minutes into the match, Patrick Gallagher notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Cork's Aubrey McPaul. Aubrey McPaul was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dermot Jameson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 14th minute, Bedilia Deery hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aubrey McPaul came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Coolnareen AFC's Brady Coyle. But to his dismay, Brady Coyle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Aubrey McPaul showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brady Coyle, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. The supporters of Coolnareen AFC booed when Cork was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dermot Jameson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute, Dermot Jameson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brak Beckett was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. With his leg Brak Beckett managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when Cork's Dermot Jameson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Bedilia Deery hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Patrick Gallagher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aubrey McPaul having to interfere. In the 42nd minute Patrick Gallagher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aubrey McPaul saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 47 played minutes Cork got a freekick which was hit by Bedilia Deery. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Patrick Gallagher to strike the kick off in the second half. Aubrey McPaul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brady Coyle in the 55th minute of play. Keeghan McWilliam made in the 58th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Duff Gillmour. Brak Beckett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dermot Jameson, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dermot Jameson in the 63rd minute of play forced Coolnareen AFC's goalkeeper Brak Beckett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Coolnareen AFC's Brak Beckett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dermot Jameson in the 65th minute of play. Dermot Jameson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Brak Beckett having to make a save. Brak Beckett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dermot Jameson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aubrey McPaul made an important save on a dangerous shot by Breen McBrandon in the 73rd minute. Devlin Moran kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Dermot Jameson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Coolnareen AFC's zone, Dermot Jameson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brak Beckett came out of the goal and Dermot Jameson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Cork's Berke McOliver got a free kick in the 91st minute. Aubrey McPaul took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrick Gallagher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patrick Gallagher had several of the Cork's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 94 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-3 score and a disappointed Aubrey McPaul as he didn't even see the shot coming. Dermot Jameson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Brak Beckett having to make a save. The Coolnareen AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
