In the 4th minute, Cloghglass FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Keelin Tierney fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Keelin Tierney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eoin McBrand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Pierce O'Down tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Keelin Tierney was extremely unlucky when he, in the 12th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 14th match minute, Cloghglass FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beary McAlphie to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Bradagain O'Keefe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Granavone AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bradagain O'Keefe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pierce O'Down breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eamonn Hughes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eoin McBrand in the 24th minute of play forced Cloghglass FC's goalkeeper Pierce O'Down to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 26 minutes, Fiachra McWilliam managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cloghglass FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fiachra McWilliam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Cloghglass FC booed when Granavone AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Breslin Tierney didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute, Fiachra McWilliam left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cloghglass FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Keelin Tierney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eoin McBrand in the 36th minute of play forced Cloghglass FC's goalkeeper Pierce O'Down to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Beollan Doherty fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Granavone AFC's protests and gave Beollan Doherty a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Granavone AFC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Beollan Doherty hit a great ball. Pierce O'Down made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Keelin Tierney sent off a good shot on target. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Fiachra McWilliam made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Beolagh McBrandon during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eamonn Hughes in the 55th minute of play forced Granavone AFC's goalkeeper Baiste McLaughlin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute, Bradagain O'Keefe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fiachra McWilliam was extremely unlucky when he, in the 59th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 63 minutes into the match, Granavone AFC's goalkeeper Baiste McLaughlin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eamonn Hughes. Cloghglass FC's Pierce O'Down played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Keelin Tierney in the 66th minute of play. Eamonn Hughes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Keelin Tierney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Granavone AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cloghglass FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Cloghglass FC.
