Coolnareen AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Torrey McSteven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee felt a red card was in order, 11 minutes into the game, when Harrington Rutherford put in a rough tackle. In the 13th minute there was a penalty for Tullykinroe. Berrin McJohnny stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Brak Beckett. 0-2. Duff Gillmour's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fionntán McBjarton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Tullykinroe's Fionntán McBjarton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Tullykinroe from getting a goal against them. In the 28th minute, Torrey McSteven ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brak Beckett was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Thanks to some nice moves Duff Gillmour could shoot a difficult shot in the 32nd minute, which Fionntán McBjarton however easily saved by the left post. Blanaid Costello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Duff Gillmour struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Fionntán McBjarton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coolnareen AFC. After the first half Tullykinroe were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Torrey McSteven was the one to do the kick off. Brak Beckett made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Aengus Keegan sent off a good shot on target. In the 58th minute Duff Gillmour shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fionntán McBjarton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Duff Gillmour fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fionntán McBjarton having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Duff Gillmour in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fionntán McBjarton saved Tullykinroe from getting behind. Fionntán McBjarton didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Duff Gillmour went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. Aengus Keegan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brak Beckett having to interfere. Breen McBrandon's late challenge caught a Tullykinroe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Breen McBrandon helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Coolnareen AFC getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Breen McBrandon hit a great ball. Torrey McSteven scored 2-5 in the 99th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brak Beckett, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
