After some fancy dribbling in the 2nd minute, Fiachra McWilliam managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bairthmead Crowe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pierce O'Down having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Tawnylea's zone, Eamonn Hughes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Braddon Gillmour came out of the goal and Eamonn Hughes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fiachra McWilliam's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Braddon Gillmour read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. If Fiachra McWilliam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eamonn Hughes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. David Ramsey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pierce O'Down having to interfere. David Ramsey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Pierce O'Down tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 34 minutes, Bairthmead Crowe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tawnylea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bairthmead Crowe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pierce O'Down made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bairthmead Crowe in the 48th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fiachra McWilliam to strike the kick off in the second half. Braddon Gillmour made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eamonn Hughes in the 55th minute of play. If Eamonn Hughes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 61 played minutes Cloghglass FC got a freekick which was hit by Troy Todd. Troy Todd hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Gil Coyle took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pierce O'Down. Cloghglass FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. David Ramsey might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pierce O'Down. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. David Ramsey ran back to his position shaking his head. Bairthmead Crowe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pierce O'Down having to interfere. In the 78thth minute of the game Eamonn Hughes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tawnylea's Braddon Gillmour was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Tawnylea's Bairthmead Crowe sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pierce O'Down narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Cloghglass FC booed when Tawnylea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Scott Dalton didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Tawnylea's zone, Fiachra McWilliam stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Braddon Gillmour came out of the goal and Fiachra McWilliam tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. David Ramsey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Pierce O'Down tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Bairthmead Crowe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
