When the match clock showed 3 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Gavin Myler sped through Tullykinroe's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fionntán McBjarton. Flannery Jameson charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Flannery Jameson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Tullykinroe booed when Tullow FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flannery Jameson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tullykinroe's Aengus Keegan got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rory McWilliam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Fionntán McBjarton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Aengus Keegan came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Tullykinroe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aengus Keegan couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Torrey McSteven managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tullykinroe's supporters rose to their feet, but Torrey McSteven was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bearnard Kelly breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gavin Myler in the 32nd minute of play forced Tullykinroe's goalkeeper Fionntán McBjarton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tullow FC's Rory McWilliam got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 37 minutes of play, Tullow FC's Phillip McWillie made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fionntán McBjarton was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rory McWilliam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Fionntán McBjarton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Tullykinroe's Fionntán McBjarton got control of the ball when Phillip McWillie tried to sneak it across the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gavin Myler was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Ron McIan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Damian Silke took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fionntán McBjarton. Tullykinroe's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, Tullow FC's Bearnard Kelly got control of the ball when Aengus Keegan tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 56th match minute, Tullow FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phillip McWillie to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Berrin McJohnny in the 57th minute really tested Bearnard Kelly's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Gavin Myler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tullow FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gavin Myler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fionntán McBjarton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gavin Myler struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Fionntán McBjarton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tullow FC. In the 78th match minute, Tullykinroe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aengus Keegan to maneuver through the defense. 81 minutes into the match, Tullykinroe's goal looked a bit too open when Rory McWilliam came free, but Fionntán McBjarton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aengus Keegan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Torrey McSteven had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 94 minutes, Gavin Myler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tullow FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gavin Myler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gavin Myler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fionntán McBjarton having to interfere. Tullow FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
