Mangerton AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cappanagh Utd the free kick. In the 7th minute, one of Mangerton AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mangerton AFC. The supporters of Mangerton AFC booed when Cappanagh Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Breccan McDecland didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 13 played minutes Mangerton AFC got a freekick which was hit by Boyle McFrank. Beckett Coyle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Mangerton AFC's Harold Hunt in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cappanagh Utd's goalie prevented a goal. Brenda Byrne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beothach McJohn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Beckett Coyle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brenda Byrne having to interfere. Boyle McFrank kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. If Beckett Coyle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Beckett Coyle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cappanagh Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Beckett Coyle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brenda Byrne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Mangerton AFC's zone, Beckett Coyle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brenda Byrne came out of the goal and Beckett Coyle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Beothach McJohn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brenda Byrne having to interfere. After the first half Cappanagh Utd were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Mangerton AFC's goalkeeper Brenda Byrne, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harold Hunt in the 55th minute of play forced Cappanagh Utd's goalkeeper Braonain Robinson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brenda Byrne made an important save on a dangerous shot by Beckett Coyle in the 58th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mangerton AFC's zone, Beothach McJohn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brenda Byrne came out of the goal and Beothach McJohn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Darick Ramsey in the 65th minute of play forced Cappanagh Utd's goalkeeper Braonain Robinson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 69 minutes in the game, Beothach McJohn fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Brenda Byrne having to interfere. In the 72nd minute Beothach McJohn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brenda Byrne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 72 played minutes Mangerton AFC got a freekick which was hit by Beagan Colwell. Mangerton AFC's Brenda Byrne proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Mangerton AFC from getting a goal against them. In the 81st match minute, Mangerton AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beagan Colwell to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 84 minutes, Beothach McJohn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cappanagh Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Beothach McJohn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Cappanagh Utd's Beothach McJohn in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mangerton AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Beothach McJohn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brenda Byrne came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Cappanagh Utd's Beothach McJohn. But to his dismay, Beothach McJohn quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The Mangerton AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Cappanagh Utd were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
