Lavally's Boland Grant got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 34th minute, Donagh Walker ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Scott Mulvihill was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Lavally's Aban McFrancise proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Lavally from getting a goal against them. Jarlath Moran kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
