In the 6th minute, Leansaghane's Denny Caffey seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Denny Caffey the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Leansaghane protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Denny Caffey had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to Leansaghane getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Denny Caffey hit a great ball. Edward Mullan took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 8th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Brian Johnson. Leansaghane's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 9th minute, Baoithin Gough hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 11th minute, Boland Grant ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brian Johnson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Brian Johnson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barr Beckett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute, Emmet McIan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brian Johnson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Brian Johnson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Barr Beckett went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Lavally's Aban McFrancise got control of the ball when Baoithin Gough tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 31 played minutes Leansaghane got a freekick which was hit by Iarla McStephen. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blathma Robinson in the 32nd minute of play forced Leansaghane's goalkeeper Brian Johnson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Leansaghane's Henry Callaghan got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Blathma Robinson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emmet McIan kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute Donagh Walker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brian Johnson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Donagh Walker made a kick off. Brian Johnson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Blathma Robinson in the 52nd minute of the match. Brian Johnson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boland Grant in the 53rd minute of play. Brian Johnson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barr Beckett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Donagh Walker took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Brian Johnson to make any attempt to save it. In the 71st minute, Henry Callaghan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aban McFrancise made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baoithin Gough in the 74th minute of play. Brian Johnson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Blathma Robinson went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. Leansaghane's Brian Johnson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Leansaghane from getting a goal against them. In the 86th minute, Donagh Walker made a precise shot to the right of Brian Johnson. Leansaghane's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Blathma Robinson during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Blathma Robinson hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. When the match was over Lavally could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Leansaghane throughout the match.
