Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ravan Ramsey got the match started through his kick off. Banan Caffrey kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Boland Grant managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lavally's supporters rose to their feet, but Boland Grant was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reginald Ryan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Reginald Ryan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boland Grant, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Donagh Walker struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Reginald Ryan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lavally. After having played for 9 minutes, Ravan Ramsey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clontarf's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ravan Ramsey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 10 played minutes Lavally got a freekick which was hit by Philip McTommy. Philip McTommy's late challenge caught a Clontarf's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Philip McTommy helped the player get up and apologised. After 12 played minutes Lavally got a freekick which was hit by Philip McTommy. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Bow Deans managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clontarf's supporters rose to their feet, but Bow Deans was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aban McFrancise breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 16 minutes into the game, Clontarf's Ravan Ramsey nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aban McFrancise made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The supporters of Lavally booed when Clontarf was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ravan Ramsey didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Clontarf's Beale Grant got a free kick in the 26th minute. Clontarf's defense didn't have a chance, in the 31st minute, when Boland Grant scored to the left of an out of position Reginald Ryan, making the score, 1-1. Beale Grant's late challenge caught a Lavally's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dónal Scully fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aban McFrancise having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
When Boland Grant came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Lavally fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Boland Grant couldn't finish the play. Aban McFrancise was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Beale Grant showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 58 minute of play. If Boland Grant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Bragain Holt fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clontarf's protests and gave Bragain Holt a yellow card for diving instead. Reginald Ryan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donagh Walker in the 67th minute of play. When Banan Caffrey came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Clontarf fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Banan Caffrey couldn't finish the play. Clontarf's Banan Caffrey got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Banan Caffrey struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Aban McFrancise didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clontarf. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boland Grant in the 86th minute of play forced Clontarf's goalkeeper Reginald Ryan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Boland Grant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clontarf's Reginald Ryan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donagh Walker in the 96th minute of play.
