Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Cian McJohn started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After a defensive mix-up in Cloonfinish's zone, Bailey Gallagher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raymond Lester came out of the goal and Bailey Gallagher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raymond Lester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Irwin Ferguson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 9 minutes, Irwin Ferguson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Corglass and the Cloonfinish players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hugh Molloy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antaine McJames having to interfere. When Abban McLaughlin fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Corglass's protests and gave Abban McLaughlin a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th match minute, Corglass was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abban McLaughlin to maneuver through the defense. Cloonfinish's Cian McJohn got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Corglass's Samuel McPeter got a free kick in the 15th minute. Boynton Lester kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Antaine McJames showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cian McJohn in the 22nd minute of the match. Bailey Gallagher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Irwin Ferguson came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Corglass fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Irwin Ferguson couldn't finish the play. Irwin Ferguson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Raymond Lester tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Cian McJohn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Antaine McJames was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. A collision led to Corglass getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Breandan Cronin hit a great ball. In the 36th minute, Cian McJohn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Antaine McJames was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Boynton Lester during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 39 played minutes Corglass got a freekick which was hit by Boynton Lester. Bailey Gallagher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Raymond Lester tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bailey Gallagher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raymond Lester having to interfere. Irwin Ferguson might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Raymond Lester. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Irwin Ferguson ran back to his position shaking his head. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Raymond Lester made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Irwin Ferguson in the 52nd minute of play. In the 56th minute, Hugh Molloy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 59th minute, Irwin Ferguson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bairre McPeter hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Samuel McPeter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 67 played minutes Corglass got a freekick which was hit by Boynton Lester. In the 70th minute Bailey Gallagher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raymond Lester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cloonfinish's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugh Molloy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antaine McJames breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
