In a very dangerous position, a player in Lismore FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 4th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Cloonfinish a penalty, 6 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ciarán McTom , who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Lismore FC's Joseph McLian. 0-1. When Cloonfinish's Cian McJohn in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lismore FC's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Lismore FC's zone, Hugh Molloy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joseph McLian came out of the goal and Hugh Molloy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cian McJohn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joseph McLian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugh Molloy in the 16th minute of the match. Berrigan McVictor's late challenge caught a Cloonfinish's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Berrigan McVictor helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Lismore FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Berrigan McVictor hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Hugh Molloy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joseph McLian was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Quirk McLaughlin kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Doney Taylor dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Raymond Lester, 1-1. A collision led to Cloonfinish getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Scothine McJames hit a great ball. In the 35th minute, Cloonfinish's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Berrigan McVictor fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Joseph McLian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cian McJohn in the 39th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Hugh Molloy put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Joseph McLian. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cian McJohn made a kick off. Hugh Molloy's late challenge caught a Lismore FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hugh Molloy helped the player get up and apologised. After 55 played minutes Cloonfinish got a freekick which was hit by Hugh Molloy. Raymond Lester showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doney Taylor, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Hugh Molloy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joseph McLian read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. When Cian McJohn in the 64th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Joseph McLian kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-3 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Berrigan McVictor put it in 2-3 from a short distance just to the right of Raymond Lester. Hugh Molloy who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Joseph McLian when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 77th match minute, Lismore FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Taveon McJohn to maneuver through the defense. If Doney Taylor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Cloonfinish's zone, Doney Taylor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raymond Lester came out of the goal and Doney Taylor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Cloonfinish's Cian McJohn slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Joseph McLian. That made the score 2-4 after 89 minutes of play. 96 minutes into the game, Berrigan McVictor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-4. Raymond Lester was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cloonfinish played a much better game than Lismore FC and deserved their victory. The Lismore FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
