In the 20th minute, Donagh Walker left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lavally fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Bairre McPeter's late challenge caught a Lavally's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 34thth minute of the game Donagh Walker who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cloonfinish's Raymond Lester was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 37th minute, Boland Grant left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lavally fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. When Donagh Walker fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lavally's protests and gave Donagh Walker a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boland Grant in the 66th minute of play forced Cloonfinish's goalkeeper Raymond Lester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Cloonfinish's Raymond Lester got control of the ball when Donagh Walker tried to sneak it across the goal line. 72 minutes into the game, Quirk McLaughlin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cloonfinish's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lavally the free kick. The Cloonfinish fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Lavally were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
