Spectators: 6778 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1778, VIP seats: 0) Davie Caffey made the kick off and thus started the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dermot McLiam in the 5th minute of play forced Dunbyrne's goalkeeper Terence Harkin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dermot McLiam struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Terence Harkin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Capnagower AFC. Terence Harkin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dermot McLiam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd play minute Ross McJohn came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Derin McWilliam. 1-1. If Dermot McLiam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute, Beagan Coyle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Capnagower AFC's Finian Ryan in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dunbyrne's goalie prevented a goal. Gearard McFrancise's late challenge caught a Capnagower AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gearard McFrancise helped the player get up and apologised. Terence Harkin came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Capnagower AFC's Dermot McLiam. But to his dismay, Dermot McLiam quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 43rdth minute of the game Finian Ryan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dunbyrne's Terence Harkin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 44th match minute, Dunbyrne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gearard McFrancise to maneuver through the defense. Dermot McLiam recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Finian Ryan made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Dunbyrne's Ross McJohn got a free kick in the 51st minute. Terence Harkin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Finian Ryan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Terence Harkin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dermot McLiam in the 57th minute. Terrence Tierney hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Bradon McLiam was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 60th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The supporters of Capnagower AFC booed when Dunbyrne was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Terrence Tierney didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dunbyrne's Terence Harkin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Dunbyrne from getting a goal against them. Sean Ramsey charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sean Ramsey the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sean Ramsey kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Dermot McLiam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Terence Harkin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Dunbyrne's goal looked a bit too open when Finian Ryan came free, but Terence Harkin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Dunbyrne getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Terrence Tierney hit a great ball. Bradon McLiam took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 79th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Terence Harkin. Dunbyrne's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Dermot McLiam's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Terence Harkin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. If Ross McJohn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Sean Ramsey was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 88 minutes had been played. In the 88th match minute, Capnagower AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sean Ramsey to maneuver through the defense. Beagan Coyle charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Beagan Coyle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 91 played minutes Capnagower AFC got a freekick which was hit by Beagan Coyle. In the 92nd minute of the match Sheridan Brennan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Derin McWilliam skillfully saved the ball. After 93 minutes, Gilian McBrand mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Capnagower AFC and the Dunbyrne players grew even worse after the yellow card. 94 minutes into the match, Capnagower AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Davie Caffey came free, but Derin McWilliam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
