In the 12th minute Dermot McLiam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rowe Perth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Finian Ryan charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Finian Ryan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 14 played minutes Capnagower AFC got a freekick which was hit by Finian Ryan. If Finian Ryan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20thth minute of the game Dermot McLiam who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Liskeagh's Rowe Perth was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Finian Ryan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rowe Perth having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Dermot McLiam put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Rowe Perth. Finian Ryan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Rowe Perth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 33 minutes of play, Capnagower AFC's Finian Ryan made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the game, Arthur Gallagher was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Liskeagh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Capnagower AFC the free kick. A collision led to Liskeagh getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Arthur Gallagher hit a great ball. When Beagan Coyle fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Capnagower AFC's protests and gave Beagan Coyle a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Capnagower AFC's Beagan Coyle got a free kick in the 40th minute. Rowe Perth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Finian Ryan in the 42nd minute of play. If Finian Ryan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Finian Ryan in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rowe Perth saved Liskeagh from getting behind. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Terence Byrne stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Finian Ryan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 55 minutes into the match, Liskeagh's goalkeeper Rowe Perth had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dermot McLiam. The supporters of Capnagower AFC booed when Liskeagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barran Dillon didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Capnagower AFC's Thomas Sheridan got a free kick in the 77th minute. Dermot McLiam who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 82ndth minute tested the skills of Rowe Perth when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Terence Byrne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derin McWilliam having to interfere. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Capnagower AFC's goalkeeper Derin McWilliam, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Capnagower AFC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
