Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Bardain Barrett started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 3 minutes into the game, Ron McSteven was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Coorleagh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ballyheigue the free kick. Beltany Horgan came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Ballyheigue's Bardain Barrett. But to his dismay, Bardain Barrett quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. With his leg Samuel Doyle managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when Coorleagh's Finnigan Branson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Bardain Barrett put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Beltany Horgan. Ballyheigue's Samuel Doyle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Ballyheigue from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bardain Barrett in the 19th minute of play forced Coorleagh's goalkeeper Beltany Horgan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rory Ramsey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Samuel Doyle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute Flann Dempsey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beltany Horgan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samuel Doyle made an important save on a dangerous shot by Finnigan Branson in the 25th minute. Ballyheigue's Samuel Doyle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rory Ramsey in the 27th minute of play. Beltany Horgan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bardain Barrett in the 29th minute of play. Beltany Horgan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brickeen Morrison in the 30th minute of play. When Brickeen Morrison fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballyheigue's protests and gave Brickeen Morrison a yellow card for diving instead. After 32 played minutes Ballyheigue got a freekick which was hit by Brickeen Morrison. The supporters of Coorleagh booed when Ballyheigue was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Liam Grant didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Finnigan Branson was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Finnigan Branson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Doney Crowe's late challenge caught a Ballyheigue's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Doney Crowe helped the player get up and apologised. In the 55th match minute, Coorleagh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doney Crowe to maneuver through the defense. During the 57th minute of the match Ron McSteven completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ron McSteven a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 58 played minutes Coorleagh got a freekick which was hit by Ron McSteven. The crowd rose to their feet as Bardain Barrett kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Beltany Horgan. That made the score 0-3 in the 60 minute of play. Keely Mulvihill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beltany Horgan having to interfere. Finnigan Branson hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Coorleagh's Nolyn Morrison got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Flann Dempsey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Beltany Horgan made a huge save. 84 minutes into the match, Bardain Barrett dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Beltany Horgan, 0-4. A sloppy throw-in by Bevin McIan in the 89th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Coorleagh's Doney Crowe. Beltany Horgan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bardain Barrett in the 93rd minute of the match. After 94 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Coorleagh! When the match had been going on for 96 minutes, Ballyheigue's Kerrigan Prunty got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Beltany Horgan. When the match was over Ballyheigue could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Coorleagh throughout the match.
