After a defensive mix-up in Monaghan AFC's zone, Jarlath Frankson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Braoin Prunty came out of the goal and Jarlath Frankson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Monaghan AFC booed when Ballynasrah FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brendon McWill didn't get a good kick on the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Jarlath Frankson notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Monaghan AFC's Braoin Prunty. Braoin Prunty was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Braoin Prunty showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jarlath Frankson in the 40th minute of the match. Aubrey McTom stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ferdia McWill's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ferdia McWill to strike the kick off in the second half. Aubrey McTom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rian Morrison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Braoin Prunty made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarlath Frankson in the 58th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Jarlath Frankson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 83 minutes into the match, Monaghan AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Jarlath Frankson came free, but Braoin Prunty reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pembroke Beckett's late challenge caught a Ballynasrah FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pembroke Beckett helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Monaghan AFC's Pembroke Beckett got a free kick in the 84th minute. Jarlath Frankson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jarlath Frankson was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 87th minute. Ballynasrah FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Braoin Prunty showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jarlath Frankson in the 90th minute of the match. When Ballynasrah FC's Jarlath Frankson in 91 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Braoin Prunty guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Braoin Prunty made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fionntán Moran in the 94th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarlath Frankson in the 98th minute of play forced Monaghan AFC's goalkeeper Braoin Prunty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
