An unexpectedly hard shot by Harry Frankson in the 3rd minute of play forced Cragg's goalkeeper Phelan Byrne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Cragg's Flann McSteve sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aubrey McTom narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Flann McSteve could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Aubrey McTom made a huge save. The supporters of Cragg booed when Ballynasrah FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harry Frankson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Ballynasrah FC's goalkeeper Aubrey McTom had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Flann McSteve. Aubrey McTom made an important save on a dangerous shot by Flann McSteve in the 15th minute. Cragg's Bradain Gillmour suffered a concussion in the 21st minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. After 21 minutes, Gearard Hamilton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ballynasrah FC and the Cragg players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gearard Hamilton hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Donavon McFrank sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Conleth McDonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute Jarlath Frankson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phelan Byrne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phelan Byrne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jarlath Frankson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Aubrey McTom managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Cragg's Flann McSteve fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Baine McDonald during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ballynasrah FC's Baine McDonald got a free kick in the 45th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jarlath Frankson to make the kick off. If Flann McSteve had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flann McSteve took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aubrey McTom. Aubrey McTom dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fionntán Moran got free with Phelan Byrne in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match clock showed 62 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Flann McSteve sped through Ballynasrah FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Aubrey McTom. Conleth McDonald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Flann McSteve came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Cragg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flann McSteve couldn't finish the play. Ballynasrah FC's Aubrey McTom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flann McSteve in the 70th minute of play. After 75 minutes of play, Cragg's Flann McSteve made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aubrey McTom was left in no man's land by his defense there! 78 minutes into the match, Flann McSteve had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aubrey McTom. Ballynasrah FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Flann McSteve was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Donavon McFrank received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Aubrey McTom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 85 minutes, Fionntán Moran mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ballynasrah FC and the Cragg players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fionntán Moran kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. There was no doubt that Cragg were the better team. Cragg's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
