An unexpectedly hard shot by Ailín McStephen in the 23rd minute of play forced Fergus AFC's goalkeeper Toran Moran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Rannal McTom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Fergus AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Toran Moran should have stopped the shot. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Becc Cooney to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Biddy Ramsey managed to get in a good position for a shot. Drommahane AF's supporters rose to their feet, but Biddy Ramsey was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
