In the 2nd minute, Tevin Delaney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 5 minutes into the game, Gearroid Molloy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kilmartin's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Redgap the free kick. After 5 played minutes Kilmartin got a freekick which was hit by Gearroid Molloy. Tory Hunt kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Binne Hunt was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 10th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 14 minutes of play, Redgap's Petran Tracy made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roy McJohnny was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Ryan Hughes got free with Beothach McTom in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Robin Gallagher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roy McJohnny didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Petran Tracy went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Beothach McTom made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Ryan Hughes sent off a good shot on target. Bresal Gallagher hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 37th minute of the match, Robin Gallagher tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Beothach McTom saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ryan Hughes might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Beothach McTom . Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ryan Hughes ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 47thth minute of the game Beale McWillie who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kilmartin's Roy McJohnny was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Robin Gallagher to make the kick off. The supporters of Kilmartin booed when Redgap was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bradner Scully didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 60 minutes, Robin Gallagher managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kilmartin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robin Gallagher was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ryan Hughes might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Beothach McTom . Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ryan Hughes ran back to his position shaking his head. 1-3 became the score in the 70th minute when Robin Gallagher elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Ryan Hughes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Beothach McTom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roy McJohnny showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beale McWillie, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. When Ryan Hughes came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Kilmartin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ryan Hughes couldn't finish the play. In the 91st minute Ryan Hughes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beothach McTom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, Redgap's goal looked a bit too open when Ryan Hughes came free, but Beothach McTom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Redgap had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
