Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Brenn McCready took the kick off in the first half of the match. Arnold Lester struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Fergal Barrett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Altans. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dromgarriff's goalkeeper Fergal Barrett, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Donlevy McBrand came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Altans fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donlevy McBrand couldn't finish the play. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Donlevy McBrand sped through Dromgarriff's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fergal Barrett. If Bairthmead McGlenn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bairthmead McGlenn might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dolan McPaul. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bairthmead McGlenn ran back to his position shaking his head. Royan Mulvihill kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 30th minute, Bairthmead McGlenn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dolan McPaul was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The supporters of Altans booed when Dromgarriff was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thom McWillie didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Brenn McCready had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Bairthmead McGlenn came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Dromgarriff fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bairthmead McGlenn couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

51 minutes into the match, Dromgarriff's goal looked a bit too open when Arnold Lester came free, but Fergal Barrett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dolan McPaul took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brenn McCready, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Donlevy McBrand scored 3-2 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fergal Barrett, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnold Lester in the 70th minute of play forced Dromgarriff's goalkeeper Fergal Barrett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fergal Barrett stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Donlevy McBrand's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. After a rather tough play, Altans's Dennis Palmer got a free kick in the 77th minute. Irving Tierney's late challenge caught a Dromgarriff's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Irving Tierney helped the player get up and apologised. In the 85th minute, Irving Tierney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fergal Barrett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donlevy McBrand in the 96th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Dromgarriff players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Altans.
