Dillon McAlphie stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Caolán Martyn's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Breffni Willson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Basil Willson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Brannon Keegan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Drumbeg AFC's Brannon Keegan got control of the ball when Basil Willson tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Barnycarroll's zone, Caolán Martyn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dillon McAlphie came out of the goal and Caolán Martyn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Basil Willson struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Brannon Keegan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barnycarroll.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Boethis Dimson was the one to do the kick off. Barnycarroll's Dillon McAlphie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breffni Willson in the 53rd minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Barnycarroll's goalkeeper Dillon McAlphie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Caolán Martyn. Drumbeg AFC's Brannon Keegan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basil Willson in the 62nd minute of play. When Caolán Martyn came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Drumbeg AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caolán Martyn couldn't finish the play. Boethis Dimson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Brannon Keegan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boethis Dimson in the 73rd minute of play forced Drumbeg AFC's goalkeeper Brannon Keegan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Barnycarroll's Basil Willson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brannon Keegan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Boethis Dimson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Drumbeg AFC's Caolán Martyn got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 84th minute, Boethis Dimson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brannon Keegan was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The audience was convinced that Basil Willson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brannon Keegan was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. 97 minutes into the match, Drumbeg AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Boethis Dimson came free, but Brannon Keegan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
