The crowd rose to their feet as Barnycarroll's Boethis Dimson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Blaire O'Down. That made the score 1-0 after 3 minutes of play. In the 8th minute, Basil Willson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dillon McAlphie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pearce Brennan in the 10th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Lenankeel Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Boethis Dimson came free, but Blaire O'Down reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Boethis Dimson in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Blaire O'Down prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Basil Willson struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Blaire O'Down didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barnycarroll. In the 36th minute, Boethis Dimson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Blaire O'Down. The goal made the score 2-0. Boethis Dimson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Boethis Dimson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barnycarroll's supporters rose to their feet, but Boethis Dimson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Blaire O'Down breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Blaire O'Down showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boethis Dimson in the 47th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pearce Brennan made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Basil Willson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Blaire O'Down. Lenankeel Utd's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Basil Willson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Basil Willson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blaire O'Down having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Lenankeel Utd's zone, Ryon John stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Blaire O'Down came out of the goal and Ryon John tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 64th minute, Carrig McSteven ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Blaire O'Down was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Basil Willson struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Blaire O'Down didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barnycarroll. 72 minutes into the match, Lenankeel Utd's Donavin McJohnny sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dillon McAlphie narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lenankeel Utd's Donavin McJohnny got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Barnycarroll's Basil Willson got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 84th minute, Boethis Dimson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Blaire O'Down stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Basil Willson's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. With a little luck, Barnycarroll's Dillon McAlphie got control of the ball when Donavin McJohnny tried to sneak it across the goal line. Basil Willson scored 5-0 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Blaire O'Down, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
