Bodibeve McPeter hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Berrin John fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alan Caffey having to interfere. Healey Deery made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darrin Colwell in the 10th minute of play. Berrin John recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Berrin John had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Castlegar's Bevan McDonald got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bevan McDonald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Healey Deery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Darrin Colwell came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Castlegar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darrin Colwell couldn't finish the play. Bevan McDonald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Healey Deery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Bevan McDonald got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Darrin Colwell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Healey Deery having to interfere. In the 44th minute Brendon Ramsey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alan Caffey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Darrin Colwell in the 51st minute of play forced Glenmaquin AFC's goalkeeper Healey Deery to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the game, Castlegar's Bevan McDonald nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Healey Deery made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 61st match minute, Castlegar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harold McDonald to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes into the match, Brendon Ramsey had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alan Caffey. Castlegar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brendon Ramsey was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Brendon Ramsey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Alan Caffey made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Bevan McDonald managed to get in a good position for a shot. Castlegar's supporters rose to their feet, but Bevan McDonald was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Healey Deery breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bevan McDonald hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Ross McVictor kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Bevan McDonald recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Castlegar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Brendon Ramsey hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Castlegar fans cheered their team off the field, for while Glenmaquin AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
