The referee showed Perry McBrandon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 2nd match minute, Barnycarroll was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Perry McBrandon to maneuver through the defense. Basil Willson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Altans's Donlevy McBrand got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 8 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Arnold Lester sped through Barnycarroll's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dillon McAlphie. Arnold Lester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 21 minutes into the game, one of Altans:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Danann Callaghan kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Barnycarroll's zone, Dennis Palmer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dillon McAlphie came out of the goal and Dennis Palmer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute of the match Perry McBrandon shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dolan McPaul showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Boethis Dimson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dolan McPaul was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Dolan McPaul showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boethis Dimson, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute Arnold Lester shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dillon McAlphie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boethis Dimson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Boethis Dimson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Altans defense, Basil Willson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dolan McPaul. The Altans fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dolan McPaul should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Boethis Dimson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dolan McPaul was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Boethis Dimson was the one to do the kick off. Phelan Lavine kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. Dolan McPaul showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boethis Dimson, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Royan Mulvihill kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Basil Willson got free with Dolan McPaul in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Altans's zone, Boethis Dimson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dolan McPaul came out of the goal and Boethis Dimson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Boethis Dimson struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Dolan McPaul didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barnycarroll. 59 minutes into the match, Altans's goalkeeper Dolan McPaul had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Basil Willson. Arnold Lester's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dillon McAlphie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. 64 minutes into the game, Irving Tierney was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Altans's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barnycarroll the free kick. In the 64th minute, Irving Tierney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 73rd minute Arnold Lester shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dillon McAlphie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Altans's Arnold Lester collided with an opponent after 77 minutes. He was hit so badly that he fractured his arm. Dennis Palmer walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 83 minutes into the game, Boethis Dimson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dolan McPaul. Boethis Dimson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. Donlevy McBrand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Dillon McAlphie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rd minute, Donlevy McBrand got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Barnycarroll supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Barnycarroll would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
