The Glenmaquin AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Healey Deery should have stopped the shot. Garrett Duggan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Healey Deery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Auley McDonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Glenmaquin AFC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Bodibeve McPeter hit a great ball. In the 19th match minute, Glenmaquin AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bragain O'Down to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute Berrin John shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antaine McIan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute, Riversdale's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Berrin John fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Berrin John was the one to do the kick off. Riversdale's Antaine McIan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brendon Ramsey in the 52nd minute of play. Phelan McStephen charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Phelan McStephen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 62 minutes into the match, Berrin John notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Riversdale's Antaine McIan. Antaine McIan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Brendon Ramsey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antaine McIan having to interfere. Auley McDonald struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Healey Deery didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Riversdale. Glenmaquin AFC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
