Dolan McPaul took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caolán Martyn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 6th minute Arnold Lester shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brannon Keegan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th minute, Breffni Willson made a precise shot to the right of Dolan McPaul. Altans's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 17th minute, Altans's Arnold Lester dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. In the 21st minute Arnold Lester shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brannon Keegan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Drumbeg AFC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Breffni Willson hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the match, Drumbeg AFC's goalkeeper Brannon Keegan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Donlevy McBrand. After 28 played minutes Drumbeg AFC got a freekick which was hit by Conleth Holt. When Donlevy McBrand came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Altans fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donlevy McBrand couldn't finish the play. In the 30th minute, Coran Caffey had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Conleth Holt during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Drumbeg AFC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Conleth Holt hit a great ball. Brannon Keegan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Donlevy McBrand in the 32nd minute. Bard Colwell charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bard Colwell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 42nd minute, Donlevy McBrand got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Royan Mulvihill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute, Cormac McWillie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Donlevy McBrand to strike the kick off in the second half. Altans's Dolan McPaul played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breffni Willson in the 62nd minute of play. In the 67th minute Donlevy McBrand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brannon Keegan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Breffni Willson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dolan McPaul made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Caolán Martyn sent off a good shot on target. Donlevy McBrand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Brannon Keegan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd minute Donlevy McBrand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brannon Keegan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 93 minutes into the game, Bil McLaughlin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Drumbeg AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Altans the free kick. After 93 played minutes Drumbeg AFC got a freekick which was hit by Bil McLaughlin. A collision led to Drumbeg AFC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Caolán Martyn hit a great ball. After having played for 96 minutes, Donlevy McBrand managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Altans's supporters crossed their fingers, but Donlevy McBrand was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Drumbeg AFC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Altans from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
