An unexpectedly hard shot by Blathmacc Scully in the 20th minute of play forced Corrigeenroe's goalkeeper Tathan Byrne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Corrigeenroe's Tathan Byrne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flannery Sheridan in the 22nd minute of play. Conor Callaghan hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. When Phillip McOliver fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kilmeedy AFC's protests and gave Phillip McOliver a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Kilmeedy AFC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Phillip McOliver hit a great ball. The supporters of Kilmeedy AFC booed when Corrigeenroe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conor Callaghan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brigid Perth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Tathan Byrne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 48 minutes into the game, Blathmacc Scully cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Tathan Byrne was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Brigid Perth made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Blathmacc Scully during the 58th minute. Bat McPhilip hit a great ball. If Blathmacc Scully had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Brigid Perth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Tathan Byrne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Brigid Perth's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tathan Byrne was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. 94 minutes into the game, Kilmeedy AFC's Blathmacc Scully nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tathan Byrne made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. When the final whistle sounded Kilmeedy AFC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Corrigeenroe.
