The audience was convinced that Binean McPhil's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reginald Tierney was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. 11 minutes into the match, Bunnow AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Binean McPhil came free, but Reginald Tierney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pierson Murphy was slow to take the kick. During this time Courtown's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Artt Mullan heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After a defensive mix-up in Bunnow AFC's zone, Torey McVictor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reginald Tierney came out of the goal and Torey McVictor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rd minute, Torey McVictor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Reginald Tierney was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Garrett Prunty kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Courtown's Pierson Murphy couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 38th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Bunnow AFC. Binean McPhil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Reginald Tierney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bunnow AFC's Bardain McCready got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match was over Courtown could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Bunnow AFC throughout the match.
