The audience was convinced that Henry Mullan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ainnle Duggan was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Dillon Tierney's late challenge caught a Kilkea FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dillon Tierney helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Killycross getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Dillon Tierney hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tyrone O'Keefe in the 13th minute of play forced Killycross's goalkeeper Baptist Lester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Killycross's Henry Mullan in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Kilkea FC's Ainnle Duggan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henry Mullan in the 19th minute of play. Ainnle Duggan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bret McTommy in the 21st minute of the match. If Henry Mullan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bret McTommy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Ainnle Duggan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bret McTommy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ainnle Duggan having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Henry Mullan to strike the kick off in the second half. Ainnle Duggan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Henry Mullan's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Killycross's Henry Mullan was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 54th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 61st minute Pierce McIan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baptist Lester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tyrone O'Keefe in the 62nd minute of play forced Killycross's goalkeeper Baptist Lester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bret McTommy scored 0-2 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ainnle Duggan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Tyrone O'Keefe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kilkea FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tyrone O'Keefe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Baptist Lester breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Killycross booed when Kilkea FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garrett Hunt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henry Mullan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kilkea FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Henry Mullan 89 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-3. If Nollaig O'Neill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Killycross's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
