After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Bret McTommy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Killycross's supporters rose to their feet, but Bret McTommy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Beehan McBjarton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Binean McPhil came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Courtown fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Binean McPhil couldn't finish the play. With his leg Baptist Lester managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Courtown's Torey McVictor fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Blaithmeic Cassin fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Killycross's protests and gave Blaithmeic Cassin a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15th match minute, Killycross was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blaithmeic Cassin to maneuver through the defense. 18 minutes into the game, Dillon Tierney was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Beehan McBjarton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry Mullan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Henry Mullan might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Beehan McBjarton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Henry Mullan ran back to his position shaking his head. 34 minutes into the game, Bartley Lester was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Killycross's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Courtown the free kick. Bret McTommy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bret McTommy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beehan McBjarton having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Killycross:s Baptist Lester showed great skill when he stopped Pierson Murphy:s penalty. Baptist Lester made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torey McVictor in the 79th minute of play. Torey McVictor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the match, Killycross's goal looked a bit too open when Torey McVictor came free, but Baptist Lester reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 91 minutes into the game, Torey McVictor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Baptist Lester was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
