After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Brain Matthews managed to get in a good position for a shot. Drumoghill's supporters rose to their feet, but Brain Matthews was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Banban McTommy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bercnan Dimson hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. When Brain Matthews came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Drumoghill fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brain Matthews couldn't finish the play. Seosamh Ramsey's late challenge caught a Drumoghill's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Seosamh Ramsey helped the player get up and apologised. Banban McTommy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fergus Hughes, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Brain Matthews had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Banban McTommy. Clogga's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brain Matthews was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The referee felt a red card was in order, 19 minutes into the game, when Enda Barrett put in a rough tackle. Enda Barrett kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Joshua McPhil's late challenge caught a Clogga's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joshua McPhil helped the player get up and apologised. After a defensive mix-up in Drumoghill's zone, Colmcille McBrand stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harley McWill came out of the goal and Colmcille McBrand tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 26th minute, Beccan McPhil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Harley McWill didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dermot Dunne went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 31st minute Brak Hutton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harley McWill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Banban McTommy managed to avoid a goal in the 34thth minute, when Drumoghill's Fergus Hughes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 35 minutes into the match, Dermot Dunne had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Harley McWill. Banban McTommy made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Brain Matthews received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Banban McTommy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Brain Matthews had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Brak Hutton to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beccan McPhil in the 52nd minute of play forced Clogga's goalkeeper Banban McTommy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Drumoghill's goal looked a bit too open when Brak Hutton came free, but Harley McWill reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Drumoghill's Brain Matthews got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Beccan McPhil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Banban McTommy having to interfere. Seosamh Ramsey hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Fergus Hughes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 63 minutes, Beccan McPhil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Drumoghill's supporters crossed their fingers, but Beccan McPhil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Brain Matthews sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Banban McTommy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brain Matthews in the 66th minute of play. Fergus Hughes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 77 minutes, Fergus Hughes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 80thth minute of the game Quinton McJohn who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Clogga's Banban McTommy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 81 minutes of play, Drumoghill's Beccan McPhil made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Banban McTommy was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 88th minute, Cahir Robinson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Drumoghill's Beccan McPhil got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Fergus Hughes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Banban McTommy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fergus Hughes in the 93rd minute of play. Drumoghill's Joshua McPhil got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Brain Matthews fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Banban McTommy having to interfere.
