Riddoc Scully didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Bunnaton AFC's goalkeeper Ros Gough had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bivitas McDecland. Toren McPaul fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bearnad John having to interfere. If Bivitas McDecland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sheridan McPhilip's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bearnad John read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Bivitas McDecland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ros Gough having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Donelle Dempsey stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Loughlin McStephen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bunnaton AFC and the Carrigeen players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 53 played minutes Bunnaton AFC got a freekick which was hit by Loughlin McStephen . An unexpectedly hard shot by Donelle Dempsey in the 54th minute of play forced Bunnaton AFC's goalkeeper Ros Gough to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bivitas McDecland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Ros Gough tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Sheridan McPhilip had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Bunnaton AFC's Sheridan McPhilip got a free kick in the 78th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Donelle Dempsey in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ros Gough saved Bunnaton AFC from getting behind. An unexpected shot in the 84th minute by Blayne Dalton got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 85 played minutes, Bunnaton AFC's Loughlin McStephen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bearnad John came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bunnaton AFC reached it. Ros Gough took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donelle Dempsey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Carrigeen's Alex Scully got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 92nd minute Bivitas McDecland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ros Gough saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
