The supporters of Bunnaton AFC booed when Scrawtown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bodibeua Harkin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Toren McPaul managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bunnaton AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Toren McPaul was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. George Hughes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Bunnaton AFC's Sheridan McPhilip, in the 16th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Bunnaton AFC. Rowley McFrank's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ros Gough read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Bodibeua Harkin charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bodibeua Harkin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sheridan McPhilip blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without George Hughes having to make a save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

After 70 played minutes Bunnaton AFC got a freekick which was hit by Loughlin McStephen . An unexpectedly hard shot by Brandon Dillon in the 71st minute of play forced Bunnaton AFC's goalkeeper Ros Gough to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Toren McPaul had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rowley McFrank got free with Ros Gough in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Scrawtown fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that George Hughes should have stopped the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Bunnaton AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Scrawtown had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
